1 - Handouts on: The Diamond Model
1-1) Overview: The Diamond Model (2 p. ) Outlines the "Diamond Model," an integrative system for healing depression and other emotional problems. Page 1 charts the "Diamond" and "triggers for distress"; page 2 describes the "distress cycle" and how to stop it.
1-2) Worksheet: Understanding the Causes of YOUR Depression (1 p.) Explores specific triggers and factors contributing to depression - which can then help identify what elements to work on to promote recovery.
1-3) "The Cookbook:" Antidepressant Lifestyle Choices Grid (2 p.) Compares strategies for "how to get depressed" with "how to choose joy instead," in each of the four areas mentioned in "The Diamond." Also, that "exercise plus antidepressants" is less effective than "exercise alone" in fighting depression longterm.
